Flexible Formed Table Lamp

This table lamp consist of two volumes stacked on each other, both going from circle to square. The two forms contain the same volume, but in different proportions.

It is part of the Flexible Formed Collection. Where I designed a process in which I do not have complete control, to allow for unexpected results to happen. By embracing unpredictability, I achieve results that I could never have imagined myself. For these designs, I stretch flexible latex sheets over a frame and then pour plaster into them to create organic shapes. By playing with different elements such as the shape of the frame and making interventions, I continuously get new and surprising results. This has led me to design various objects such as vases, bowls, and lamps.
